Frances Hennigan is an Irish artist based between Essen DE and Roscommon, IRE. Her practice examines topics surrounding the thirst for internet fame such as; misinformation, scandal, glamour and performative political activism, focusing on the influence of celebrity influencers in shaping political discourse. Hennigan's work looks into the rapid pace of image production and its impact on online politics, highlighting the ways in which celebrities leverage their platforms to influence political movements.

Previously, Hennigan’s art investigated online fringe political communities, creating video and imagery that explored themes of truth, dog whistles, and the dynamics between self and others in radicalisation pipelines. Her recent projects were about how alt-right fringe groups use dog whistling and appropriated iconography to evade detection by algorithms.

Frances completed an MA in Art + Research Collaboration from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire in 2022 and was awarded a fellowship of Digital Culture with Kulturforum Witten in 2023.
